 VACON® 100 INDUSTRIAL is full of features and dedicated for a wide range of constant power/torque applications. The easy-to-use and robust motor controls improve the reliability and efficiency of all AC motor types, including induction and permanent magnet and synchronous reluctance motors.</p>
<p>Integrated RS485 and Ethernet interfaces support all major industrial protocols making VACON 100 INDUSTRIAL easy to incorporate into all major control systems. The built-in PLC functionality enables integration of new functionality into the drive. Functional safety is improved with Safe Torque Off, which prevents the motor from generating torque on the motor shaft, Safe Stop 1 and ATEX-certified motor over-temperature protection.</p>

 The VACON® NXP Grid Converter is an alternative source of marine power technology that plays a key role in reducing fuel intake and improving efficiency. It can be applied to power generation for ship engines and harbor power supplies to meet the demands of governments and port authorities.</p>
<p>When used with a shore-supply solution, VACON NXP Grid Converter allows electrical power to be sourced from the local grid via a set of cables, rather than the ship’s main engine or generators. This process, sometimes known as ‘cold ironing’, has a significantly positive impact on fuel economy. It causes reductions in CO2, NOx and SOx emissions, as well as noise and vibration levels.</p>
<p>VACON NXP Grid Converter can also be applied to shaft-generator solutions, ensuring that propulsion machinery is able to operate at various speeds. The shaft generator decouples shaft RPMs from the electricity (frequency) which allows better electrical quality and improved fuel economy. Additionally, power can either be taken from or entered into the propeller shaft. This is particularly useful for ships that often alternate their speeds as it creates fuel savings and minimizes exhaust emissions by up to 15%. It also creates an emergency mode meaning that the vessel can operate even if the main engine fails.</p>

<p>With one of the best power/size ratios, VACON® NXP Liquid Cooled drives are ideal for applications where space is at a premium or air cooling is difficult. Heavy industries with harsh operating conditions, such as in marine, offshore and mining environments benefit from the drive’s compact design and robust reliability.</p>
<p>Liquid-cooled AC drives can be used in many combinations, from a single dedicated frequency converter to large-scale common DC bus systems. Packed with features, these fully standardized drives maximize the utilization of space while minimizing overall lifecycle costs.</p>
<p>As a high degree of protection (IP54 or higher) can easily be achieved with these drives, they can be installed almost anywhere in a plant or on a vessel. This eliminates the load on air-conditioning systems in electrical rooms reducing costs and installation time, and makes them ideal for retrofitting.</p>
<p>Servicing is fast and easy. Features such as safe torque off (STO) and safe stop 1 (SS1) improve safety, and conformal coated circuit boards enhance reliability.</p>

<p>Common DC bus components can be used in many different combinations. In a regenerative DC bus system, the active front-end unit generates power back to the mains network. This is suitable for processes where braking is needed often and the braking power is relatively high. In a non-regenerative system, braking power is redistributed to other drives in the system and possible excess power can be dissipated as heat using an optional brake chopper and brake resistors. This is ideal for small production lines where braking is needed less often.</p>

<p>All sections are grouped depending on their functionality, making it possible to plan each installation phase according to your requirements. The engineered sections slot in alongside each other allowing you to arrange integrated transport splits to save space. Alternatively, you can add extra transport sections to speed up installation. All larger modules have slide-out mechanics for easier set-up and maintenance.</p>
<p>The VACON NXP System Drive is built to last. Items such as busbar systems and high/low power devices are separated into individual compartments away from each other. <p>To help improve performance by making better use of energy, energy storage is increasingly being introduced into systems to create hybrid solutions. Various storage methods are being used but, due to reductions in battery costs and increases in energy density, battery utilization is seen as being the fastest growing and more easily integrated storage medium available today. DC/DC converters can be used to connect to sources such as batteries, super capacitors, fuel cells and solar panels.</p>
<p> Due to the wide input range of the source voltages, for example battery, the VACON® NXP DC/DC Converter application can be used to match source voltage to a common DC bus system in order to utilize the stored energy to create the right DC bus voltage required to operate the machinery running on these hybrid systems.</p>

<p>Although extremely compact in size, the VACON® 20 is packed with functionality to help improve system performance and cost efficiency.</p>
<p>Fast installation and set-up are possible due to easy-access terminals, integral DIN rail mounting and the parameter copying tool which can clone settings without needing mains power. The parameter list can be freely modified and application-specific parameter sets and default settings can be created. PLC functionality means individual control logic can be built into the drive and unused I/O options can be used for other machine-related tasks.</p>
<p>The built-in RS-485 interface provides a cost-effective and simple serial-control interface for the drive. With optional modules, VACON 20 can be connected to almost any fieldbus system based on RS-485 or Ethernet, including Profibus DP, CANOpen, DeviceNet, Profinet I/O, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP/IP and Ethernet IP.</p>
<p>Available in all common voltages and in a wide power range, VACON 20 optimizes the performance of, for example, vertical-movement, packaging, material-handling and flow-control applications in various process industries around the globe. </p>
